Foundation and/or Pathway programmes are designed for prospective students without formal entry eligibility requirements onto a direct undergraduate course of education. A foundation or pathway course provides an alternative route to study in many UK universities. These educational programmes may last up to 1 year.
For UK and EU students, it means you can benefit from being a student by living the experience, getting student loans and funding, and neither are you required to process your applications via UCAS.
You become part of the student community for your university and are officially recognised as a full member of the student community from the very first day at University with stuff like access to libraries, help for disabled students, join student unions, access student support and many other benefits available to individual universities like performance-related scholarships.
As an International student on a pathway, foundation or access course, you are automatically registered as a full member of the respective university’s student community. Many UK universities provide foundation courses as a bridge to undergraduate degree programmes. But there is more to this. Foundation courses normally last for 9 months or 1 year. So, will you need to find an admission?
As an International student, attaining a certain level and mastery of the queen’s language is a prerequisite requirement to enrol in almost all UK institutions of higher learning. So, this is an opportunity for you to improve your English language skills as English is part of almost all foundation programmes.
It could be that you did not perform well in your advanced level GCE, you want to change career paths or you simply did not attain that level of education, a foundation course from any of the UK higher institutions of learning we work with will ensure you possess the study capabilities needed to thrive in any world-class academic environment. What if you do not have any qualifications at all but do have some working experience? Relevant industry experience plus your tuition and living allowances for 1 year is all you need to enrol into this access or pathway programme before moving on to your full degree program. It means spending 4 years instead of 3 studying for your degree.
